What we do

Six zones of work. One person who owns the result.

Irrigation is the specialty and the reason most people call Woods. But Mike handles the whole yard - the water in the ground, the drainage around your home, and the plants and palms on top. Here is exactly what each one covers.

A Woods irrigation system running - sprinkler heads throwing arcs of water across a fresh green front lawn beside a new palm and croton bed

  • Broken valves, solenoids, and mainline breaks (including tree-root damage)
  • Irrigation controller, timer, and clock repair and replacement
  • Rain sensor installation, setup, and repair to skip cycles when it rains

  • Seasonal tune-ups and free irrigation inspections
  • Cool-season setup and light freeze protection for occasional Florida cold snaps
  • Zone optimization for even coverage and lower water bills
  • Well water and city or county water, 2-wire and conventional systems

We are so pleased with our new landscaping! Mike was a pleasure to work with, helping us navigate plant choices and design ideas with ease. He handled a big job in a great timeframe and stayed true to his word every step of the way. What really impressed us was his attention to detail—he solved a long-standing irrigation headache for us and was so careful not to disturb our existing plants or lighting. He even took the time to trim our freeze-damaged palms, making them look green and vibrant again. We are thrilled with the outcome and highly recommend Mike for any landscape needs!

Pallets of fresh rolled sod staged on a graded front yard Woods prepped for a new sod installation

Sod Installation

A new lawn, laid to last.

When a lawn is more dirt than grass, patched out, or never really took, Mike installs fresh sod and gives you a clean green yard again. He removes the old or dead lawn, grades and preps the ground, and lays the new sod tight so it roots. Best put down before the summer rains so it establishes. Not sure which grass fits your yard? Ask Mike - he will tell you what holds up in your soil, sun, and shade.

  • Fresh sod supplied and installed for front, back, and side yards
  • Old, dead, or patchy lawn removed and hauled off
  • Ground graded and prepped so the new sod sits flat and drains
  • New sod laid tight and watered in so it takes root
  • Full-yard replacement or a single bare patch repaired
  • Paired with irrigation so your new lawn actually gets watered
  • Honest guidance on the right grass for your soil, sun, and shade

Mike was great! He got my irritation system repaired and working like new. He fixed many issues with our system and explained everything along the way. He helped me optimize my zones, and adjusted, fixed, or replaced anything broken. I’ll be using him and recommending him for any future irrigation or landscaping projects. Update: I used Mile again…this time he removed old mulch beds and concrete boarders to include several overgrown bushes, dug in drainage for our back gutters, install sod, freshen the rock in our front beds, and tweaked the irrigation for the new sod…and he did an amazing job as expected! I will always use Mike for any landscaping or irrigation work in the future. He’s trustworthy, reliable, and all around good guy!

Woods irrigation and landscaping did a wonderful job on our back yard. They pulled up all the old damaged trees from the hurricane damage and frost damage that happened across the valrico and central Florida area and replaced it with beautiful new palm trees. They are kind, professional, reasonably priced, and timely. I’m happy to know that we have HEALTHY quality plants from the beginning, unlike the “cheaper” first company. Everything is good quality and pretty!
